Horseshoe Bend in northern Arizona, bathed in brilliant colors from the western sky. The vertical walls of Glen Canyon tower more than 1,000 feet above the Colorado River, which carves a 270 degree bend near Lake Powell. I waited patiently for nine days before the sunset I was looking for finally materialized. One of the most incredible scenes I have ever witnessed.

The first light of dawn hits the peak of Mount Robson, the highest point in the Canadian Rockies. Renowned for poor weather, the mountain usually sees less annual ascents than Mount Everest. The North Face is seen reflected in the still waters of Berg Lake, creating an almost surreal atmosphere and the perfect conditions for this photograph.
